Reaper Sonoma County Pinot Noir 2012
The finished wine is opaque at the center, offering classic Ramal black fruit and intense minerality married to forest floor elements like wet earth and mushroom. The toasty vanilla character of the barrel is just prevalent enough to bring real interest to the nose. On the palate this baby wine offers serious structure, great mid-palate depth and a very long, vanilla-infused finish.
“Hands down, this is one of the best Pinot Noir values on the market. The wine is dry and silky, with delicious, complex flavors of strawberries, raspberries, red currants, cola and baking spices. Sneak this into your next blind tasting and see how it fares next to Pinot Noirs that cost two or three times as much.” – S.H.
